Join us for Live Learning 20: More than a school
Live Learning is Future Anything’s continuing professional development series for educators.
Each month, the Future Anything team chat with awesome movers, shakers, thinkers and doers from the world of entrepreneurship, education and beyond on topics designed to help build enterprising mindsets in schools.
In this Live Learning session, we travelled to Cambodia to hear from staff and students at Liger Leadership Academy.
More than a school, Liger’s innovative model educates young people in project, opportunity, and experiential based learning, developing socially conscious, entrepreneurial leaders of tomorrow.
Liger learners are taught to become ‘change agents’, to take initiative through an inquiry process by seeking real-world problems and creating solutions through a combination of project-based, experiential and opportunity based learning. Students have become internationally published authors, app and digital currency developers, regionally recognised robotics engineers, and national award-winning filmmakers – all by the age of 15.
Our guest: Dom Sharpe, Country Director, Liger Leadership Academy
Dom is a true advocate of disruptive, innovative schooling as a tool to lessen the gap between what is being learned and what business and the future needs. He believes that people from sectors outside of institutional education should be involved with education – not to work against, but to work with, educationalists. Dom has been part of Liger since the beginning and continues to be inspired by the model of changing the country through investing in the promising few.
