Live Learning 27: Building Capabilities into a Cramped Curriculum

Live Learning is Future Anything’s continuing professional development series for educators.

Each month, the Future Anything team chat with movers, shakers, thinkers and doers from the world of entrepreneurship, education and beyond on topics designed to help build enterprising mindsets in schools.

In this Live Learning session, Nicole Dyson introduced the Future Anything Capability Framework, which identifies six key capabilities that empower young people to bend the future—rather than just inherit it. Each capability also consists of three measurable competencies that students can develop over time, through scaffolded opportunities to ‘practice’ within their curriculum.

Nic was joined by Donna Harvey (Deputy Principal at Beenleigh State High School) and Margaret Roads (Principal at Ardrossan Area School) to explore how educators can embed capabilities within a school context.
