We bring together a panel of industry leaders to step through a ‘cheat sheet’ of practical ways you can engage your local (or global) community in your classroom.

ROOM B

NEUROSCIENCE FOR TEACHER & STUDENT SUCCESS

with Dr Hayley North, PhD, Neuroscientist & Founder – Understand Your Brain, Research Fellow – Neuroscience Research Australia, Conjoint Lecturer – UNSW, Faculty of Medicine & Health

In this practical, evidence-backed session, neuroscientist Dr Hayley North covers 3 main themes to help drive success: 1. how to ensure learning actually sticks; 2. how looking after key aspects of brain health drives performance; 3. how to boost focus and motivation in the classroom and beyond. You will leave with strategies you can apply right away, to help your students and but also yourself.

ROOM C

STRATEGY FOR EVERY SCHOOL

with Dr Anne Knock, The Learning Future

This session is designed for those who want great ideas to come to life, within complexity of a school environment. We will explore the difference between making plans and designing strategy, simple and complex problems, and mechanistic versus biologic ways of working. Through hands-on activities, shared artefacts, and collaborative sense-making, you’ll leave with an actionable framework, immediately usable tools to support strategic design, decision-making, and action in your school.

Session 4 | 2pm - 2.45pm

ROOM A

AI – WHY STUDENT VOICE MATTERS

with Miriam Scott, Education Consultant: AI, Independent Schools NSW

As AI becomes part of everyday learning, students are not just users of these tools; they are directly affected by the decisions schools make about access, expectations and boundaries. This session explores why student voice matters in shaping responsible, meaningful approaches to AI, and what educators can learn when we take the time to listen. It considers how student perspectives can inform clearer guidance, surface practical concerns, and support more thoughtful, shared approaches to AI across a school community.

ROOM B

PRINICIPAL PANEL: LEADING IN UNCERTAIN TIMES

with Rachel Byrne (Hunter Sports High School), Gregory Miller (Chevalier College) & Briony Scott (prev. Wenona School)

What does it mean to lead a school in a post-COVID education landscape? Join three inspiring Principals as they step through the challenges of leadership, and practical, tried and tested strategies for every teacher or leader to build culture, community and connection.

ROOM C

DITCH THE MYTHS: RETHINKING THE NEURO-INCLUSIVE CLASSROOM

with Stephanie Salazar, Sanctuaries of Learning & Olivia Green, Northside Speech Pathology

Supporting neurodivergent learners shouldn’t feel like an “extra” item on your to-do list. In this hands-on workshop, Stephanie Salazar and Olivia Green strip away the misconceptions that make inclusion feel impossible. We’ll debunk the “Teacher-as-Therapist” myth and replace it with a sustainable framework for success. You’ll leave with a refreshed mindset and a “Monday Ready” toolkit of practical strategies designed to make your classroom more accessible for your students – and more manageable for you.

Closing Session | 2.45pm - 3pm
