Live Learning 28: Unlocking Career Confidence

Live Learning is Future Anything’s continuing professional development series for educators.

Each month, the Future Anything team chat with movers, shakers, thinkers and doers from the world of entrepreneurship, education and beyond on topics designed to help build enterprising mindsets in schools.

In an era where young people are expected to prepare for jobs that don’t yet exist within industries that are still emerging, career readiness has never been more complex, or more crucial.

And yet, in 2022, two in five 15-year-olds across OECD countries, including Australia, reported having no clear career plans—a 50% increase since 2018.

So, how do we empower young people to not only imagine, but actively design their future selves?

In this Live Learning session, Future anything’s Dan Dempsey was joined by by two experts in the field – Kirstene Ciappara, Co-Founder & Managing Director at myDESIGN Education, and Lucy Sattler, Founder and Career Counsellor at Study Work Grow – for a solution-focused conversation grounded in real classroom practice. They enjoyed a practical and provocative conversation exploring how schools can become launchpads for career confidence.
