Future Anything today announces the 40 teams of high school entrepreneurs from across Australia who will be pitching their innovative, scalable and sustainable ideas live online to a global audience in the Future Anything 2022 National Semi Finals.

In 2022, nearly 50 Australian schools have built enterprising mindsets in their classrooms, challenging their students to create innovative, sustainable and scalable solutions to the problem they care about through Future Anything’s Activate in-curriculum program.

Close to 5000 students in schools, from Far North Queensland to South Australia, have researched, developed and prototyped for-purpose business solutions that will make the world a better place.

The top 40 teams now come together in eight online events to pitch live for the chance to progress to the high profile Future Anything National Grand Final, to be held in Brisbane in November.

Nicole Dyson, Founder & CEO of Future Anything, said “This year we received almost 200 applications for our National Finals, and the standard of was higher than ever.”

“Our young people are tacking a diverse range of the real world problems that reflect the key challenges facing our society. From mental health and to plastic waste, protecting nature to access to education, these are big issues that can sometimes feel overwhelming. Activate equips our students with the tools to understand the root causes of the challenges that matter to them, and the skills and mindsets they need to create  meaningful, achievable solutions.”

Nic added “I can’t wait to see students’ live pitches in the Semi Finals and would encourage anyone who’s looking to be inspired by the ingenuity and passion of the next generation to grab a free ticket and join me.”

Pitches will be judges by panels of expert judges drawn from the worlds of innovation, entrepreneurship, government, education and beyond.

In announcing the 24 judges, Nic added “It’s wonderful to see such an influential and diverse range of thought-leaders volunteering their time to support the next generation of Aussie innovators. The feedback and support they provide through the Future Anything National Semi Finals could well have a life-changing impact on our young people.”

The eight 60-minute Future Anything National Semi Finals will take place online on Monday 24 and Thursday 27 October 2022. All events will be livestreamed with the audience given the chance to vote for their favourite teams with a live People’s Vote. Free livestream tickets are available here.
