Smart Precinct NQ and Future Anything are excited to announce that the Townsville City Council Big Ideas Youth Challenge is returning to Townsville on Thursday 11 August 2022.
During this fast-paced day of listening, learning, and doing, students will hear from inspiring local changemakers, as well as explicitly developing their entrepreneurial thinking and human-centered design skills.
The day will culminate in young people pitching their own innovative solution to a real-world issue that matters to them.
WHEN: Thursday 11 August 2022
WHERE: Central Plaza, James Cook University, Via The Science Place, James Cook Drive, Townsville.
COST: Free. Up to 25 free tickets are available to all schools in the Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Palm Island, and Hinchinbrook. Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, but consideration will be given to ensure there is a mix of schools attending.
WHO: The event is designed for students in Years 7 – 10. We are seeking a broad mix of students, both in capability and talents, who would benefit from exploring entrepreneurial skills in a motivating and supportive setting.
The Challenge in 2022 is generously supported by James Cook University, Townsville City Council, Charters Towers Regional Council and Burdekin Shire Council, plus a host of local organisations and businesses.
