Future Anything Team Expands

Future Anything has recently welcomed two new members to its rapidly scaling team, as the organisation looks forward to another record-breaking year for its educator designed- and led-programs that build enterprising mindsets in classrooms, schools and communities.

Jen Buchanan recently joined Future Anything as Program Director (Engagement). A future-focused leader with a vision to shift existing paradigms in education, Jen has extensive experience in trailblazing schools in Australia, the USA, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.

She will lead the development and delivery of Future Anything’s suite of engaging student-facing workshops and teacher professional learning experiences.

Designed and led by experienced educators in primary and secondary schools across Australia, the workshops build enterprising mindsets in young people, educators and school leaders. They bring Project-Based Learning to life by connecting learning in the classroom to life outside the school gates.

Jen said “I’m so excited to join Future Anything at this time of growth. I’m looking forward to standing alongside educators as together we stretch our thinking about how to create learning experiences for both students and teachers that taps into their “why“.”

Jen joins Kate Clauson, Head of Curriculum & Partnerships, who joined Future Anything in late 2022. An experienced educator, Kate is a talented learning designer with over ten years’ experience in diverse Queensland schools.

She has a broad educational background encompassing commerce, psychology, history and education, and has worked as a curriculum and pedagogy coach, building teacher capacity to understand and embed evidence based best practice on teacher effectiveness and student wellbeing.

Kate is the key point of contact for schools delivering Activate, Future Anything’s flagship in-curriculum program. She’ll shape the ever-evolving Activate curriculum and provide personalised mentoring to teaching teams, helping them maximise the impact of Activate for their students, and to build their own capacity to embed enterprising thinking in their classrooms.

Kate said “It’s a big change to step away from the classroom after 11 years, but I’m thrilled to join Future Anything. I can’t wait to put my experience in learning design and innovative curriculum to work in forward-looking schools and organisations across Australia – and beyond.”

Nicole Dyson, CEO and Founder of Future Anything, said “One of Future Anything’s most potent strengths is that we are educators first. We know teachers, we know schools and we know young people.”

Nic added “As the Founder, it’s a really exciting time to be bringing two such experienced and forward-looking educators on board. Jen’s global outlook and Kate’s deep passion for curriculum is a winning combination that I know will make a real difference in every school and community we work with.”

About Future Anything

Future Anything transforms young people’s passion and creativity into innovative ideas that make their world a better place. Our mission is to create enterprising students, empowered educators, and future-ready schools.

What do we mean by ‘enterprising’?

enterprising (adj): marked by an independent energetic spirit and by readiness to act

We do this through:

  • In-curriculum Entrepreneurship: Activate is our flagship program that builds enterprising mindsets in every classroom, empowering young people to ideate, prototype and pitch innovative, scalable and sustainable solutions to the problems they care about. Read more here.
  • Teacher Professional Development: We design and deliver engaging educator PD; unpacking the ‘what’ and, more importantly, the ‘how’ of an innovative and future-focussed approach to teaching and learning. Read more here.
  • Student Workshops: Over one, two or five days, our workshops are fast paced days of listening, learning and doing that ignite students’ enterprising mindsets. Read more here.
  • Partnerships: We partner with innovation bodies, education organisations, governments and others to spark innovative projects that drive entrepreneurial change in schools, communities and regions. Read more here.
