The Future Anything team chats with movers, shakers, thinkers and doers from the world of entrepreneurship, education and beyond on topics designed to help build enterprising mindsets in schools.
For our first Live Learning session for 2024, we dived into a fascinating topic: storytelling with data.
Future Anything’s Founder & CEO Nicole Dyson was joined by Dr Selena Fisk, a data storyteller who works with organisations and schools to develop strategic approaches to the data that they collect, collate and use. Selena supports teams to have highly effective data storytelling conversations about that data so that all decisions being made can be informed by evidence.
Data can so often be weaponised in education. In this conversation, ‘peeled the onion’, revealing the fundamentals in why and how we should be using data in our schools. We also explored the implementation of change projects, and how to use data meaningfully to showcase (and share) impact. And, perhaps more importantly, we unpacked how we can engage students in their own data story.
